OpenStudy (hayleymeyer):

Which has the greater volume, a square pyramid with base area = 25 cm2 and height = 8 cm, or a square prism with base area = 25 cm2 and height = 8 cm?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The square prism has larger volume than a square pyramid as the pyramid will fit within the prism. Just imagine the top of the pyramid being somewhere within the prism. With math, the volume of the pyramid is 1/3rd * Area_Of_Base* Height, which is 1/3rd of the prism volume (V_Prism = Area_Of_Base * Height);
