which of the ordered pairs satisfy the equation below? y=-9x A.(-2,18) B.(-3,-27) C.(4,36) D.(2,-18) E.(0,0) F.(-1,-9)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

You have your equation \[\large y = -9x\] And you have some ordered pairs in the form \(\large (x,y)\) So all we need to do is plug in the 'x' and the 'y' into our equation and see if we yield a true result

Got it! Thank you :)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

No problem :)

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

basically for each value of x you plug in you will get a corresponding y value if the given x value in the answer gives the desired y value the equation is true for the specific set of points tested
