you just multiply it out. for something like 2(3+5x) you just multiply 2 by the two inside values yielding 6+10x. for two parentheses with variables in it such as (2x+2)(4x-2) you can foil by doing 2x(4x-2)+2(4x-2) yielding: 8x^2-4x+8x-4 giving 8x^2-4x-4 .
