Explain how the law of conservation of energy is obeyed in a food chain.

Energy can not be created or destroyed. It converts into other forms of energy or stored. In a food chain Animals take energy from other animals. They use some of the energy in their metabolic functions and other cell activities the leftover is released into the the surroundings in the form of sweat respiration and faeces.

The producers take energy from sunlight. Producers are mainly plants.
