@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

we can rewrite your equation as follows: \[ - \frac{5}{2}x - 5 = - 55\]

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

now we can add +5 to both sides, so we cdan write: \[ \Large - \frac{5}{2}x - 5 + 5 = - 55 + 5\] please simplify

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

-60

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I got this: \[ - \frac{5}{2}x = - 50\]

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

ok

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

then whats the answer

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

now I divide both sides by -5 so I can write: \[ - \frac{5}{2}\frac{x}{{ - 5}} = \frac{{ - 50}}{{ - 5}}\]

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

from which we get: \[\frac{x}{2} = 10\] please multiply both sides by 2, and you will get the value of x
