Woah this is way out of my league haha
Fist off, do you know how confidence intervals work?
OK, well, this goes over calculating a CI: http://stattrek.com/estimation/confidence-interval.aspx
Well, a proportion is some sort of dividing it up. The mean is an avaerage.
Well, you could do proprtions of sports vs riding... it would be hard to do an average of that... It might also depend on the question.
OK. So what did you pick as a question? What sort of context did you ask it in?
OK. Hmmm... well, did you also get people that did not have one? It seems to be a tad limited... unless you only asked one class.
Well, the question is fine. The results just seemed a little odd... failure to repsond could be taken as other/unknown if yiu was say a poll in an online class. THis will go over man vs. proportion. http://stattrek.com/sampling/central-tendency.aspx?Tutorial=Stat When you have different answers like that, a proportion is more likely. When it is one answer but of different values, like "How tall are you" then you usually use a mean.
You can use whatever your class will allow. The instructions are pretty open.
Well, because you have more than one thing it ill be some sort of proportion. You could do a proprtion of all three things or you could do it with something that covers more than one group...
Well, a proportion is the same as it is in any other form of math. It is how many out of the total. So you ould add together all respondants to get the total. Then 10/total is the proportion of tennis players.
Proportion is normally done as a decimal or a percentage.
