OpenStudy (faithhouse):
part A. is 4.8
OpenStudy (manish00333):
try putting it in an equation!
\[\frac{ 2 }{ 25 } = \frac{ x }{ 60 }\]
and
\[\frac{ 2 }{ 25 } = \frac{ 1/4 }{ y } = \frac{ 1 }{4 y }\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i got 4.8 for the first one...ill show you my work :)

try isolating y for the second one
OpenStudy (manish00333):
oh you already got it :P
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok well for part A
2 inches=25 miles
How many inches equal 60 miles?
This requires breaking down inches into smaller measurements so lets start there.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1 inch equals 12.5
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but thats just 1 inch so the answer is 4.8 inches :)

Part B is correct as well. You know that 2 inches is 25, so divide by 2 to get 1 inch. Then divide that by 4 to get 1/4 inch. :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thx :)
OpenStudy (jtvatsim):
no worries :)
