Find three consecutive numbers whose sum is 99. i will give you rewards.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

If your first number is \(x\), what would be an expression for the second number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it will be \[x+2\]

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

So, do you count 1,3,5,7? Or 1,2,3,4? First number is \(x\), second number is \(x+1\), third number is \(x+2\) You know that the sum of the 3 numbers is 99, so \[(x) + (x+1) + (x+2) = 99\] Simplify that and solve for \(x\), which is your first number. Write down the next two numbers and you have your answer.
