Marcus spent 10 hours doing his homework last week. This week he spent 11 hours doing homework. He says that he spent 110% more time doing homework this week. Is he correct? Show your work to justify your decision. And this is a practice essay so it needs to be justified in words how I got the same answer as Marcus ( and yes I know he is right)
he is not correct. 110% more would be 21 hours. 11 hours is 10% more.
Well yes.......I guess I did not see that thank you.......could you help me solve?
What are you solving for?
well I need to justify my work. Like showing how I got the answer. This is a practice essay so I need to write in words how I got the answer.
essays are very hard for me. :(
ok. start by writing step by step what you did.
this is a question asked to me I didnt do any thing I did put "yes...he is right because 10*11=110" but only got 1 out of 5 points lol
ok well, your math was wrong to begin with so let's go through the math and then handle the essay. Pay attention to the steps so you can use them in the essay.
First thing is understanding percents. 10% more than 10 is 110% of 10 110% more than 10 is 210% of 10 basically to find the "more than" add 100 to the regular percent
How would you find 110% of 10?
good question......sorry precentages is really not my thing
this is why I am having such a hard time on this
