Ok so when we have a full circle we use \[P = \pi d\] But since we are looking for only a quarter of a circle we multiply by 1/4 but that is of just the red part in the drawing we need to include the diamter of the green parts as well so we have |dw:1434059082381:dw| \[P = d + d + \frac{ \pi d }{ 2 }\]
