OpenStudy (mrhoola):

Topic : single phase transformer , Short-circuit & Open-Circuit , Efficiency of a transformer My question is : Is it logical to say that the Copper loss or Short-circuit watt meter reading is a FULL LOAD reading @ 3-kVA? And if the load is rated for 2-kVA do you have to take 2 parts of the 3-KVA's watt meter reading for the short circuit test ?

Generally with this test you should be able to determine, copper and core losses, and with other transfomer characteristic you should be able to create a model of input copper losses and inductance, core losses, output copper losses and inductance in which you can determine a load of .85 power factor lagging. Good luck I haven't taken that course in 30 years but the modeling is out there.
