Studying for my Calc 2 exam which is in swedish but the book and all of the exercises are in english. f(x)= f(x+h)-(x)/h What part in calc 2 is this, what is this called in english?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's the same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what is this called tho? specific to any category?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

you mean this? \(f'(x)= \lim_{h \rightarrow 0}\frac {f(x+h)-(x)}{h}\) in which case its the definition of the derivative

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

if you run the limit as h goes to 0 then you have the derivative at the point x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes exactly, also y’ for 2e^sin(4x+5) which chapter is this categorized in?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

I am guessing that depends on the book? There is more than the one...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well The chapters applied are: Techiques and applications of differentiation Integration Applications of integrationSequences and series Differential equations Those are just head liners, I hope it narrows it down enough?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

first one

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

The Difference Quotient \[\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}h\]
