Chen is covering a 12-in. by 10-in. board with 1-inch-square tiles. He uses gray tiles to make six 2-in. by 2-in. squares. He covers the rest of the board with white tiles. How many more white tiles than gray tiles will Chen use?

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

In the first question, you needa find the area, so 12 x 10 = 120. next, it says that he is using six 2 x 2 inch squares, so 6 x 4 = 24, do you know what to do next?

*derp face * nope

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

That's okay, you subtract. 120-24 What do you get?

96
