Help me plz I will medal and fan Sodium is an explosive metal. Chlorine is a poisonous gas. You would expect a compound made of sodium and chlorine to be very dangerous. very explosive and poisonous. very closely related to the element that makes up the majority of the compound. unrelated to the individual properties of sodium and chlorine.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sodium and chlorine combine to make sodium chloride, also known as salt

I know but Im not sure if it is asking for the real answer, because it says "think"... I am just not sure...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean it says expect, not what is the real thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd say its D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

strange question though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I may, I believe that the question is coming from a different stand point. The question purposely mentions how poisonous each element is, and asks what would you expect? I m throwing away logic here, and assuming that it would be B, however answers B and A are very closely related, so it could be either...

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

I don't think it's A or B, as they're too similar to choose one, and aren't really logical. Because of that's it's C or D, but it's hard to choose. I would also say it's D...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, but It says what do you expect

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

I know for a fact that salt is not dangerous, and it's also not explosive and poisonous. Salt will never be those 2 things. I think we're overthinking it here. It has to be D, because like I just said, it won't be like their individual properties. When I reread it, C doesn't fit, A and B are just impossible, and D is true, and so therefore we would expect that.

Also, next time check the subject you're in before posting, or it counts as spam. You don't want to get in trouble for a little accident :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am aware that salt is not dangerous!!! I am just saying that it says what are you EXPECTING not what is the TRUTH... I am not overthinking it, I am just reading the question.

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

No, what I am only saying, is that you would expect salt to be unlike the individual properties of what it's made of. I am not saying you aren't aware of the fact salt isn't dangerous. And what I mean by overthinking, is that we are reading too much into the question, and wondering if it's not being logical and is instead making you think differently, when I think that really, it's not and is just worded oddly.
