What is your understanding of this question? :) Or what do you think the correct answer is?

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

4x^4-4x^3+10x^6

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

4th degree trinomial 12th degree trinomial 3rd degree trinomial 6th degree trinomial

What is your answer?

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

I dont understand this question at all so if you could help that would be great

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay… so polynomials (like this one) are classified in two ways.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. By degree 2. By number of terms

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

Wait i think its 6th degree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's correct!

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

Since your supposed to classify by the highest exponent

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

Thanks for your help :D could you help me with one more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The highest exponent of the entire polynomial is considered the degree.

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

Yep :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer would be a trinomial because there are three terms. And sure, I'll help out, but try doing it in another thread so others have the chance to gain more medals :)

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

Yep will do just be on the look out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure thing… or just tag me haha :)
