Needing assistance with "Factor the polynomial using the grouping number method"
4a^2 -7a+3 (4)(3)=12 Product-- --> Sum (-1)(-12)=12--> -13 (-2)(-6)=12 -->-8 (-3)(-4)=12 -->-7 <-- 4a^2 -7a+3= 4a^2 -3a-4a+3 (4a^2 -3a) - (-4a+3) ---Stuck here
lets switch it \[\huge~\rm ~(4a^2 --4a) - (3a+3)\]
lets switch it \[\huge~\rm ~(4a^2 +4a) - (3a+3)\]
now you can solve it :)
Why'd you switch it though????? O.o
To make it easier to solve
it doesnt matter what order you put the a's in
Answer-- (a+1)(4a-3)
You just switch them around? Theres no minus or plus to cross then to the other side?
yes thats right :)
Alright I have another one
ok repost it :)
4x^2 +7x+3 (4)(3)=12 Same product as before (-3)(-4)=12-->-7 4x^2 +7x+3= 4x^2 -3x-4x+3 (4x^2 -3x) - (-4x+3)
same thing \[\huge~\rm~(4x^2 -3x) - (-4x+3)\] \[\huge~\rm~(4x^2 +4x) - (-3x+3)\]
Answer-- (x+1)(4x-3)
somethings wrong..... :L (x+1)(4x-3) (x+1)(4x+3) <--answer
Okay!
hope i helped :)
I got the first one wrong.. Correct answer-- (4a-3)(a-1)
It was your math... However switching it does not make a diffrence.
But that should have been right.... :/
You told me + and a - the correct answer had two - Your switching told me to change the signs. My math was correct till then
oh right the signs i think i made a mistake in switching the signs! sorry! :( Did you get the 2nd one right?
Yes the second one was correct.. Its fine I still got a 90%
hmmm sorry about that its still an A :/ sorry :(
Its okay just wish I had check it.. Thank you for your help
