Help please! I will medal and fan:) I just need help figuring out the word "terms" in math!! Amelia makes $8 per hour at her job and then earns an additional $15 for every tablet she sells. She uses the expression 8h + 15t to keep track of her earnings. How many terms are in the expression, what are they, and how do you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think there are 2?!

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

There are 2 terms, 8h and 15t.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.. thanks, I was just making sure!

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The term 8h tells how much she earned for the hours she worked. h is the number of hours. If you multiply h by 8, that is the amount of money she earned from the number of hours she worked.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The term 15t tells you how much she earned from the number of tables she sold. If she sells t number of tables, you multiply 15 by t and you find out how much she earned from the number of tales she sold.
