please help me. Given the following dependent system of equations Ax + By = C Dx + Ey = F where A, B, C, D, E, and F are non-zero Real Numbers, which of the following choice(s) would be an accurate representation of the solution set? For each choice explain why it does or why it does not represent the correct solution set. a) {(x,y)l Ax+By=C} b) (a, b) c) {}, the Empty Set d) {(x,y)l Dx+Ey=F}
@AriPotta @aaronq @selena44
@Blosson505 i think the answer is either a or d
why
the hint our professor gave us was to use the definition of dependent system
idk if that helps
@selena44 I ask for other people to help because I am really not that good at math. :( but I always try to help.
@peachpi
does anyone know?
{(x,y)l Ax+By=C} and {(x,y)l Dx+Ey=F} mean that any value of x and y make the system true, meaning the equations represent the same line and the system is dependent. (a, b) means that (a,b) is the only point that works for the system and the system is independent, and the lines intersect once. {}, the Empty Set means there is no solution to the system, it is inconsistent, and the lines are parallel.
okay... so how can i get the answer?
like, how d i know whtat answer choices work or not
"Given the following DEPENDENT system of equations..."
Only 1 thing I wrote is about dependent systems
choice A
and?
d
yes
oooh okay thanks so much
you're welcome
