Which consequence of special relativity is most associated with nuclear power? A. length contraction B. mass-energy equivalence C. time dilation D. mass increase

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

it is the mass-energy equivalence, since when an uranium atom is broken into 2 fragments, then the sum of the masse of those two fragments is less of the mass of the original atom, and that difference is given by the energy developed during that breaking

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

oops... masses*

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

oopss. the masses of those two fragments is less than the mass...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okie haha thank you:)

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

:)
