Eric is painting the foyer of his home. It measures 6.5 feet by 4.2 feet, with a 9-foot ceiling. What is the wall area of the foyer?

|dw:1434352825468:dw| Hopefully this is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2 (9 (6.2\, +4.2))=187.2 \]

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

6.5 feet not 6.2 feet

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

A 9 foot ceiling means all the walls are 9 feet high. Recall the area of a rectangle = length of rectangle X width of rectangle. Total area of the 4 walls = 2(9 X 6.5) + 2(9 X 4.2) Don't forget to use the units of ft^2 in your final answer :-)

\[2 (9 (6.5\, +4.2))=192.6 \]
