Heather saves $5.00 on Monday. Each day after that, she decides to save twice as much as she did the previous day. If she saves nothing on Friday, how much does she have saved that day?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This requires just a bit of mental math. If heather saves $5 on monday, and saves twice as much as the previous during the next few days then we know on tuesday she would earn $10. Bec. 5(2)=10. Wednesday, would be 10(2)= $20, thursday would be 20(2)= $40. So if she saves nothing on friday, how much has she saved throughout the week?
