Help anyone? Will Medal. Express the exponential growth of the yearly harvest of wheat which turns out to have a rate of growth that grows 2% every year. The initial amount of bushels of wheat is 4000 bushels.
4000(1.02)^x
this is because this is growth so u add .02 or 2% and then u put that to am exponential function by putting the initial number first then make the function
is that good enough for medal?
Yes, But I have some questions. Is that how you solve it? Because I'm more looking for how to solve it then the answer. If that makes sense and if you don't mind?
how would you solve what?
the equation or how to get the equation?
How to get the equation and how to get the answer.
to get the equation you have to know how to make the equation. first we need to analyze the info given ,such as in this problem it gave that it has a growth rate of 2% and what is 2% in a decimal? it would be .02 and since we know it is at a growth rate, we add .02 to one because the initial growth is 1 but since it grows more by 2% then we add .02. good so far?
Yeah, I'm following you.
after we do that we put the equation together. to make the equation it is y=a*b^x
a is ur initial number which in this case is 4000 b is ur growth which we figured out was 1.02 then u just put those together to get the equation
The equation was the first reply you gave me, right?
yes
And when I solved it I got 4000*1.02^x
thats what i said
now to solve this, you would need the number of years, so say it said how many bushels would there be in 2 years, then we plug this in and so it would be 4000* (1.02^2) because the x would be the number of years, then we would FIRST evaluate the exponent which would be 1.02^2 which equals 1.0404 and then we would multiply this by 4000 which is 4161.6 and then the answer would be that there will be 4161.6 bushels of grain in 2 years
is that good?
Yes, Thank you so much!
need anymore?
what grade are you doing this in?
I am a Senior, But It's a long story to why it is this stuff confuses me. But, thank you so much and that's all for now. I might ask a few more questions later on in the day :)
okay
Simplify 9*log4x+9*log4x^4 How would you solve this? What I'm having problems with is how to get it into the form that I need it into solve it. The Log4x+9 is confusing, Do I put it into this form: Log(4x)+9?
