Which situation describes a time when it would be all right to round the numbers A. Keisha needs 2.75 meters of ribbon for one sewing project and 3.5 meters for another She thinks of rounding each amount to the nearest meter so she has enough ribbon She would buy 3 meters and 4 meters of ribbon. B. Tom needs 2.25 gallons of black paint and 1.75 gallons of red paint. He thinks of rounding each amount to the nearest gallon. He would buy 2 gallons of black paint and 2 gallons of red paint. C. Carol wants to buy a music album that costs $13.45 and another album that costs $12.95.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is a D. hang on

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

C seems incomplete?

Victor babysat 15.45 hours one week and 15.2 another week. The children's parents think of rounding the times to the nearest hour. They would pay Victor for 15 hours each week.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats D

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

I don't understand c, is that all they gave you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no A B C D but D didnt come on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D.Victor babysat 15.45 hours one week and 15.2 another week. The children's parents think of rounding the times to the nearest hour. They would pay Victor for 15 hours each week.

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

I mean, can you write c again...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Carol wants to buy a music album that costs $13.45 and another album that costs $12.95. The cashier thinks of rounding each amount to the nearest dollar. She would charge Carol $13 for each album.

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Oh ok, you did not give the full post last time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops sorry

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Ok, so lets go over them one by one

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

What do you think of A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm hang on

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Take your time, think about it rationally :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Astrophysics

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Would you want to be paid less for overtime?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

So would D be a good answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what one do you tink

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Well lets think about it, for A seems pretty reasonable to me, you'd want to buy extra just in case don't you think? B is a bit odd, because if you want 2.25 gallons of black paint why would you only get 2 gallons then?

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

C you're losing money

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so A

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Well, that's what I think it would be, does it make sense to you though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it makes sense to me

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Ok then :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Yw
