DelTaVsPi posted the triangle area formula. When you know 2 sides and the included angle, the area equals Area = (1/2) * side 1 * sine (angle) * side2 Area = .5 * 7 * sine (40) * 12 Area = .5 * 7 * 0.64279 * 12 Area = 26.99718 So, it seems that 27.0 square meters is the answer. And if you want to check that answer go here: http://www.1728.org/triang.htm scroll to the bottom and choose "Side Angle Side"
