Well, using the prefix, pre-, we can assume that it will introduce or give us some background info. Based on this, what do you think that answer is?

OpenStudy (chrisisdope1):

describes the play's major conflict and resolution.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

spoiler alert: It is A, INTRODUCES all the characters in the play

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would agree @chrisisdope1 , but a resolution is at the end of the story, similar to an epilogue, what happens AFTER a story ends. a PROlogue is in the very beginning of a novel/book and just tells the reader some basic knowledge, not spoils the whole book like reading an epilogue would.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A prologue is similar to an exposition. It goes at the very beginning of the story and introduces information such as the main characters, time setting and other things, possibly hinting towards the conflict. Knowing this we can choose A as the best answer. \(\bf\Huge\color{lime}{\ddot\smile}\)
