Writers who use imagery?

OpenStudy (jacob902):

Imagery to me would mean atmosphere - that is, how the author creates a sense of what the world feels like, or how it seems to the main character. So, if the author says the main character is in a dungeon, cool, we can guess what that looks like, but we don't really feel it with the character. However, if the author says the main character is in a cold and damp dungeon teeming with rats, then THATS imagery. We can see it in our minds, feel the cold, hear the rats. At least, that's what I think imagery is. Setting a scene.

I think pretty much any writer uses imagery. :P
