The correct answer is D. You use Pythagorean identity \( x^2 + y^2 =c^2 \) c = 12 x = 5 \( 5^2 + y^2 =12^2 \) \( y^2 =12^2 - 5^2 \) \( \sqrt{y^2} =\sqrt{12^2 - 5^2} = \sqrt{119} = 10.9 \)
