I'm writing a story and my character is about to engage in a fight but I'm not sure how to execute a good fighting scene. Any advice?

Here's the excerpt: 

People gave them looks but no one dared approach them; some people in town were terrified of Jules, if they weren't they were intimidated by him and they had good reason to. "Well, well, well, look who it is." Jules turned around to see a group of thugs, a pipe in one of their hands. 

"flutter off." He placed Leila down and hid her with his body. 

"And who's the pretty lady?" 

"None of your damn business. Can I help you?" 

"I need you to give me my money back." 

"Who the flutter are you?" 

"Darnell." 

Jules scoffed, "You owed me money, I'm not giving it back." 

"Guess I'm going to have to get it back by force and if you don't mind I'll be taking the pretty lady behind you with me." 

"Go ahead and try, you're not laying a finger on her." 

The two men on either side of the Darnell guy, lunged at Jules. 

If you could also write a sample, that would be great. I promise I won't steal it ^.^
