well now we have better technology to help understand and protect ourselves . also we have better ways of escaping.. beter cars planes etc

if it had mountains rocks would fall
if it had apartments in a city they would fall.
in the suburbs with open grass nothing would get destroyed
if it is close to the water it is possible for a ripple effect of a tsunami
