What points would NOT be graphed for the following function and domain? x = y – 7; D: {0, 2, 4, 6}

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

well the domain is all the x values that your function can take, right? so then your function only has 4 points: \[(0,7),(2,9),(4,11),(6,13)\], because those points' x values are all in D (domain). Then, the points that will NOT be graphed are all the rest. So it is like drawing your complete function and then removing the points above, you will be left with points that are not graphed. Formally, these points will \[\in \{(\mathbb{R} - D ),(\mathbb{R}-f(D)\}\]

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

so basically how to solve those is to simply find the points that ARE graphed (i.e. are in the domain and codomain), and then taking the complement against whatever space they are in (in the reals, naturals, complex, etc)
