Analyze the social, political, and/or economic forces (pick 2) of the 1840s and early 1850s that led to the emergence of the Republican Party. I have an economic force, but what can i say about a political force? i cannot use events as the "force" according to my teacher? so what are political forces??

Slavery? Does that count as an event or a force?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is slavery political?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that free labor would work to argue for the economic force. so im think the force is an idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whigs faded out because the country was extremely divided on the issue of the anti-slave expansion
