Well, the United States dropped bombs on Japan to try and end WWll, which worked and made Japan surrender. Soon Italy did as well, along with additional Axis Powers. Soon only Germany was the one to not surrender, but without other countries on Germany's side, they soon surrendered as well.

One of important person who contributed was president Roosevelt as he signed off on the Manhattan project that made the bomb and only a select few even knew about the project it is said that the bomb was only to scare the enemy and only to be used if no other option was possible.
