You need to compare photosynthesis to a "Process". That means something that requires 'doing' something with reactants at the start & products at the end. Maybe something like: cooking, growing a garden, folding origami, putting a model together Looking at the scoring rubric, you need: a. Give the balanced equation of photosynthesis. Tell what are the "reactants" and what are the "products". b. Tell your "reactants" and "products" of your chosen "everyday process". c. Give an explanation of the energy conversion that occurs in photosynthesis and its importance d. Tell what is converted during your chosen "everyday process." e. Describe the importance of each reactant and product in photosynthesis. f. Tell the importance of each reactant and each product in your chosen "everyday process."
@pooja195 can you help with science?
@dan815 help?
part a) Do you know what photosynthesis is ? It's basically a process that occurs when light energy is absorbed by chlorophyll and converted to chemical energy which is used to synthesise (to make) glucose from water and carbon dioxide whilst liberating oxygen in the process (meaning oxygen is also created. Note that when something is created in a reaction, they are called your "PRODUCTS" as that is what is being produced and made :) So, this means that your "REACTANTS" are what was used to create the products.... In photosynthesis, plants absorb carbon dioxide and water and with the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll, the plants can then convert the carbon dioxide and water to produce glucose and oxygen.. Hence the following equations: |dw:1434672753587:dw|
