How was the Russian revolution and the French revolution related and how are both war different from each other?

Both countries had weak leaders who let events get quickly out of control. In France there was Louis XVI and in Russia, there was Nicholas II.
The French revolution lasted ten years, between the years of 1789 and 1799. The Russian revolution lasted a much smaller time frame and consisted of several small scale revolutions.
Also, the Russians also had a pre-revolution that led up to the full revolution, while the French did not.
