I just keep asking but I'm so bad with inequalities! Match each absolute value with its equivalent compound sentence 1. |x - 5| = 4: |x - 5| = 4 2. |x - 5| < 4: |x - 5| < 4 3. |x - 5| > 4: |x - 5| > 4 4. |2x + 3| < 8: |2x + 3| < 8 5. |2x + 3| > 8: |2x + 3| > 8 Column B a. 2x + 3 > 8 or 2x + 3 < -8 b. -8 < 2x + 3 < 8 c. x - 5 > 4 or x - 5 < -4 d. x - 5 = 4 or x - 5 = -4 e. -4 < x - 5 < 4

well for absolute expressions you put the set quantity equal to plus and minus the answer so like on number 1 x-5=-4 and x-4=4 and you can do the same thing throughout like on 2 x-5>4 or x-5<-4 doing this to make it negative you have to flip the sign

Still kind of confused
