What is the job of mitosis? Mitosis is a process by which old cells reproduce to form new ones which are like them only. In this way old cells are replaced by new ones.

For having offspring, production of sex cells (gametes) are required. Gametes are formed by meiosis of gamete mother cells. So d will be the answer if meiosis is absent.
