you can also find distance by the formula \[d=\sqrt{\left( x -h \right)^2+\left( y-k \right)^2}\] where (h,k) is the center and (x,y) is the point if d<r then the point lies within the circle. if d=r,then point lies on the circumference, if d>r then the point lies outside the circle.
