Why was the United States interested in Hawaii? It is a good place for U.S. citizens to go for vacation to relax and enjoy the ocean. The people who live there are good looking. They wanted to expand the cattle industry and Hawaii had resources to aid in the expansion. The great natural resources and is a good place for the U.S. to refuel planes. none of the above
