Determine the number of solutions for the quadratic function f(x) = x2 - 6x + 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We first want to start with defining the variables we plugin to the quadratic equation. Do you know what the numbers would be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no idea i'm sorry i'm so bad at math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x= \frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac} }{ 2a}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's ok :). So the coefficients of the functions are the numbers. a= 1, b= -6, c=9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just plug that in and solve :)
