In operations the tanks will be filled with water and its specific weight is assumed to be 9.45 kN/m3. Write a program to show a graphical plot of the added weight (kN) of the tanks due to the liquid for the given range of spherical tank sizes (diameters in meters). What is it asking? I have already calculated the volumes of the tanks
I know I have to make a plot but the first sentence is throwing me off
So the problem gives you specific weight. This is more or less just density (which is mass/volume) times gravity to give a measurement of force/volume or in this case weight/volume. Best way to double check when you're given an unknown value is to look at the units. In this case its given as kN/m^3. kN is kilo Newtons or 1000 newtons where a Newton is a measure of force. m^3 is a distance cubed, or a measure of volume. Since you're given specific weight and you've already solved for volume, you'll just need to multiply the two together to get the added weight! and if you check the units, it works out: |dw:1434851562381:dw|
