Science- what is it, what makes something scientific?

I'm studying for my test and this question is so simple but yet is confusing me.

If that something adheres to, or uses, the scientific method, then it can be considered scientific.

I would say that the best answer is anything that uses the methods outlined in the Scientific Method is a science. Observations, hypotheses, rigorous testing with a clear pre-defined determinate, conclusions (including need for more testing).
