one way to do these is to first work out what fraction of the building does each one paint in one hour
Ted does whole building in 11 hours so in 1 hour he does 1/11 of building
similarly Linda does 1/8 of building in i hour
So working together they do 1/x of the building in one hour where x = time to do the whole building when they work together
so can you see which option is correct?

yes tha'ts correct it actually comes to 2 6/11 but they asked for an approximate value
