I´ve read that sometimes tiny blackholes are created in particle accelerators like those in CERN. How do you even create a blackhole in a lab? Are these tiny blackholes the same as those supermassive collapsed stars roaming through space? How long do these blackholes last before they 'evaporate'? Can they make one big enough that would last a long time?

this should put your mind at rest :p contains some nice animations and looks very credible http://www.einstein-online.info/spotlights/accelerators_bh
