Can I simplify this any further? ... (x+1)^2 (-2(x+1) + 3(x-1)) ----------------------- (x-1)^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ (x+1)^2(x-5) }{ (x-1)^3 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats the simplest form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And then how can I solve for x, setting it all = 0 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Set the numerator to zero and then solve it for x. x = -1 and x = 5

Ohh right!! Thanks so much @robtobey :)
