OpenStudy (anonymous):

so confused i wonder what's the steps i'm bad at math how do you simplify this :8y(y - 4) + 3y(y + 2).

OpenStudy (lynfran):

ok so first step is to get rid of the brackets

OpenStudy (lynfran):

8y(y-4)+3y(y+2) would give \[8y ^{2}-32y+3y ^{2}+6y\]

OpenStudy (lynfran):

then u group the \[8y ^{2}+3y ^{2}\] and -32y+6y and u just add/subtract

OpenStudy (lynfran):

understand?

OpenStudy (lynfran):

what would be ur final answer? go ahead and try it...

OpenStudy (lynfran):

so our finals answer \[11y ^{2}-26y\]
