HELP PLEASE!!! A circle with the equation (x + 3)2 + (y - 2)2 = 25 is reflected over the line x = 2. What is the equation of the image?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

from the equation you should be able to tell me what is th ex value of the centre of the original circle?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

(x - a)^2 + (y - b)^2 = r^2 is the general form of a circle where (a,b) is the centre and r is radius compare this with your equation and you will get the center and radius of your circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no diagram or picture. that is all the info it gives, other than the answer choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that makes no sense to me

OpenStudy (mrnood):

As I said - you can tell this JUST FROM the equation what is the x value of the centre of the original circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A circle with the equation (x + 3)2 + (y - 2)2 = 25 is reflected over the line x = 2. What is the equation of the image? (x - 3)2 + (y + 2)2 = 25 (x - 7)2 + (y + 2)2 = 25 (x - 7)2 + (y - 2)2 = 25 (x - 3)2 + (y - 2)2 = 25

Idk

OpenStudy (welshfella):

compare (x - a) to ( x + 3) what is the value of a which will make them equal?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

There is no point in posting th eanswers you need ot look at the equation and use the general equationgiven above to tell me what is th ex value of the original circle. This is th efirst step to th enaswer - so oyu need to do this first

im not following
