OpenStudy (lynfran):

im getting x=7

OpenStudy (lynfran):

look like C

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@LynFran Please explain how you get your answer(s) to @alante so she can solve a similar problem.

OpenStudy (lynfran):

well the absolute value of 3x-6 is 3x-6 so, 3x-6=15 can be written as 3(x-2)=15 divide by 3 we get x-2=5 x=5+2 x=7

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Then there's a second solution obtained by solving |3x-6|=15, or |-(3x-6)|=15, or -(3x-6)=15
