The metal wire in an incandesent lightbulb glows when the light is switched on and stops glowing when its switched off. This simple process is which kind of a change? A) a physical change B) a chemical change C) a nuclear change D) an ionic change

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Incandencense is essentially what happens when a piece of metal gets so hot that it glows. Given that the only thing happening to the metal wire in the light bulb (in this case) is a change in temperature to cause it to shine, you should have enough information to answer your question.

So D? Or C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm kinda confused about it all....

@isears

D and C are just meant to distract you. The real question you should be asking: "is change in temperature a chemical or physical change?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Physical

Bingo

Thank you so much I think understand that now because chemical is something that you don't really do anything to it's the effect of something happening.
