What is the effect of using the first person in "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift? Readers are able to relate to the narrator's message. The point of view hints at the writer's bias. Readers are able to identify with the narrator's agenda. Readers cannot verify the narrator's claims. The writer's lack of logic becomes apparent in the essay.
