GDP per capita is the best answer. If a country has a high GDP per capita, it generally will have higher living standards, hence better literacy rate, and life expectancy. Also, in general, if a country has a high GDP-PC then chances are the factors of production are there because things like entrepreneurship and labor force contribute to the economy and raise the GDP.
